Is it an impulsive decision to quit your job during the pandemic? Ha ha, the focus of this article is not here, but the review of the past 3 years’ work experience. One day, I came across an employee of a well-known Internet giant who said, “One year in XXX company seems like three years on earth.” I laughed at that, too, because his words perfectly expressed my feelings. Three years, I do not sigh time rush, after all, my colleagues and I often sigh: how did not feel long, as if to stay here for many years. These three years were not only the most painful period for me, but also the fastest stage of self-growth.

How painful is the pain? I remember always facial expression is dark heavy, the hair is big big drop, the memory that the brain forgets thing instantly completely is fish general, neurasthenia is much dream in the evening, always feel at ordinary times there is stone pressure in the heart, do any thing mood also can’t relax a moment. Even so, there’s no denying that my personal growth has been phenomenal. Whether it is the in-depth cognition of the occupation, the improvement of emotional management, communication, PM and other skills in all aspects, or the development of the habit of reading, gradually to the full understanding of the world…… It was a very transformative experience for me. Here, I’d like to summarize and share some of the most profound experiences I’ve had in my career. I hope they can inspire you, too.

Try to develop the habit of positive thinking. Work is for your personal growth, so be productive. Where does the harvest come from? Just from everyday life. Usually active thinking, active work, do not be satisfied with the execution of the boss to complete a task. But think bigger, like why did this task happen? How to do it better? What kind of effect is more reasonable? If we always adopt the mentality of “I will do what I get paid”, then five or 10 years later, we may still have accomplished nothing, because this kind of thinking limits our future development potential. More importantly, the dependence of thinking will gradually lead to the loss of independent thinking and creativity. (These abilities will open the gap between people in the workplace, ranging from cognition to income.) Only by thinking positively and taking the initiative can we improve our underlying abilities and simultaneously improve our problem-solving ability, professional skills and learning ability. And these things, will always be their own, even if change companies change jobs or entrepreneurship, can be used.

√ The purpose of not communicating with colored glasses is to let others understand and identify with you. However, a lot of times, we always blame and question colleagues in communication, resulting in poor communication. This is due to our tendency to misinterpret and look at others’ incompatibility and disapproval through colored glasses. Most of us do not know the whole picture of anything in the workplace, so we should try to reduce the speculation and imagination with partial generalization. What we know may not be the truth, nor may it be all the truth, or even false news that nothing has happened. Don’t be paranoid about what you haven’t seen, and don’t over-interpret comments when you’ve seen it. It’s all just a working relationship. It’s a bond. We work with people we like and people we don’t like. We just need to be neutral, focus on the situation, observe and understand others’ difficulties, and sometimes put ourselves in their shoes (maybe you will understand why they speak and act the way they do, and why they are having trouble communicating with each other). Never take personal emotional preferences, in the mind to others on the label, to communicate work. Because such communication, from the beginning is doomed to failure.

√ Pursue perfection but reject perfectionism advocate the mentality of pursuing perfection. Only in this way can we make continuous progress and achieve a perfect result. However, too much pursuit of perfection is not a good thing. Nothing is perfect, nothing is perfect, it’s just the right place at the right time. So the pursuit of perfection, but do not be too hard on yourself, the surrounding and the environment, after all, we may not be able to achieve the perfect state in our mind no matter how hard we try. There’s always a gap between reality and dreams, isn’t there? He is a wise man who knows what to do. We need to be aware of who we are, where we are, and what we can and can’t change. With this mentality, we will not always envy others better than ourselves, will not blame others for their lack of effort, nor will we deeply question why we can not do it? Of course, not pursuing perfectionism doesn’t mean that we can just muddle through. My point is, do your job, and leave the rest to chance.

Too much emotion is never a good thing. Negative emotions not only harm your body, but also the people around you, and no one can tolerate repeated episodes. Sometimes, just the slightest thing at work can blow us up. Why are we so prone to bad moods? What makes us so mad? Feeling like things aren’t going the way you want them to? Don’t listen to your co-worker? In short, no matter what the reason, the generation of bad mood, will only let us impetuous not calm. Everything is not so smooth, not so bad, each of us is not superman, do not find their own mood, let the bad mood dominated our thinking and action. As for how to manage emotions, I have written a special article “True People and Stories, THIS is how I Quit negative emotions”, which is also an emotion management method based on personal practice summary.

√ Attaching importance to execution but insisting on results orientation to do things quickly is not necessarily the embodiment of high efficiency. Job completion measures not just how fast but also how good it is. The boss will not give a raise or a promotion to an employee just because he or she delivers tasks quickly. Instead, he or she will be impressed by the employee who does his or her job well. Execution should be fast, but it should not be the first principle in the mind, but to find ways to improve the quality of the task, results-oriented as the goal, the first pursuit of completion, then fast. If we do every task mechanically and repeatedly, depleting our stock of knowledge, our personal growth will be slow and we may even leave our boss with the impression of a busboy. So, give yourself a little more time to think about how you can do it better, and find some new ideas and methods to achieve your goals quickly and well.

We choose all the way, lose all the way, gain all the way. Looking back over the past three years, I’ve lost a lot and gained a lot. However, the harvest all the way makes me more determined to march forward, looking for the happiness of life and discovering the beauty of the world. I sincerely hope that my experience can also help you. If you need more specific communication, you are welcome to communicate with me and grow together.
