I would like to express my condolences to the predecessors of shallow ink.

I have a good brother whom I have known for many years. I call him Lao Hu.

I mentioned him in my official account a few years ago, we worked together in an IT company, he is an excellent game developer, very handsome guy.

Three years ago, I realized that life comes to an age when we say goodbye to our friends. In the past three years, I have come to realize the dusk and departure of idols.

I still have Lao Hu’s wechat now. Last time WE met, we had big dish chicken last year. Now he has left the IT industry for many years.

We were both passionate about writing tech blogs, and Hu had built up a loyal following of fans and admirers by Posting a lot of dry stuff on CSDN and blog Park.

Two days ago, I sent him a message on wechat: “Brother, the master of light ink has left…”

After the message was sent, it was a long time before he got back to me.

I can still feel the regret and sorrow in his words.

I still remember clearly that one of the tech bloggers he admired most at that time was MAO Xingyun (pen name: Xianmo), an excellent post-90s game developer.

Mix front end circle for many years of me, it is a pity that in such a way, know shallow ink big guy.

Looking through MAO Xingyun’s personal knowledge, I saw that the position marked is still Tencent game Lead Engine Programmer, that is, the leader of the Engine development group.

Six days ago, on December 11, 2021, at the end of the year when everyone was looking forward to Christmas and New Year’s Day, MAO Xingyun, an employee of Tencent’s Tianmei F1 studio, passed away forever.

He took his unfinished gaming dream with him, permanently stuck in 2021.

Colleagues left the book, candles and a bouquet of flowers where he had left.

When I looked at his blog, I found this quote from him:

“One day you will emerge more beautiful than anyone expected.

But it can be painful, it can be hard, and sometimes it can be frustrating.

In the face of the surging reality, I feel powerless.

But that, too, is part of life. Do what you can now, and everything will be fine.

We are all going to grow up alone, don’t be afraid.”

Before quoting this passage, he notes:

“It’s always written on the flyleaf of my C++ notebook.

Whenever I was confused about the way forward, I would open the title page and look at the faint handwriting of this paragraph of text for a while, then gradually relieved.

I left it on my blog today in the hope that it will help others who are lost.”

Looking back at his articles, many people expressed their gratitude below. Others cited the quote he once posted on his blog.

Grateful that he had been a bridge river, regret that he did not cross the river himself.

I really hope that all of you who love game design:

  1. Do exercise for more than 30 minutes a day, 5 days a week. I put it first because it’s really, really, really important!

  2. Make sure you get 8 hours of sleep, sleep regularly, and eat healthy. I totally understand the thrill of hitting or learning a technical point, but you really should take a break.

  3. Indeed, the vast majority of us, all very curtilage, don’t like to chat with others, a problem, we will want to think deeply for a long time, and a long period of time, for a lot of things it’s easy to have a heart and if you don’t like anywhere there are a lot of people chat, listen to music, watching movies, play the piano, this world is not only the code and paper.

Lying flat, a lot of the pressure goes away. The world is actually simple, sometimes quite simple.

Callback, Hu is no longer the crazy game developer he used to be. I’ve been out of front-end development for a few years now, and we’re both passing through the application development industry.

“Before all out of love, later only to make a living.”

I was impressed by this phrase, just because it was Hu’s slogan these years.

I sent a message to Lao Hu on wechat: “Brother, when you have time to get together, have a meal together, talk about those years of our technical career, just as a memorial to the blood youth we fought side by side!”
