Abstract:This paper introduces that in Huawei’s KYON (Keep Your Own Network) enterprise cloud Network solution, elastic load balancing service provides mixed load balancing function, which supports the use of public cloud load balancing to bind Huawei cloud and IDC, so as to realize the seamless integration and resource sharing between cloud and cloud services.

Huawei Cloud KYON (Keep Your Own Network), an enterprise-level cloud Network solution, creates a minimalist and agile path to the cloud, helps enterprises with minimalist planning, agile migration and seamless integration, which is the best choice for enterprises to go to the cloud.
After the enterprise business is migrated to the cloud, the IDC stock server under the cloud needs to continue to be used. IDC under the cloud and resources on the cloud are independent of each other, and resources cannot be shared.
To solve the above problems, Kyon provides mixed load balancing function, which supports the use of public cloud load balancer to mount IDC’s business backend, so as to realize the seamless integration and resource sharing of business on cloud and under cloud.
This paper mainly describes how Huawei Cloud Elastic Load Balancing integrates the services above and below the cloud through hybrid load balancing to realize load sharing.
What is Mixed Load Balancing?
Hybrid load balancing means that in a hybrid cloud scenario, the cloud dedicated line or virtual private network seamlessly extends the local infrastructure to the cloud to build a converged network on the cloud and under the cloud, and the exclusive load balancing back-end loads the resources on the cloud and under the cloud to achieve reasonable load sharing.
Huawei cloud-exclusive load-balancing back-end server group not only supports the addition of servers in the VPC on the cloud, but also supports the addition of servers in other VPCs, other regions and data centers under the cloud. Help users flexibly configure traffic requests according to business demands, and forward traffic requests to servers on, between or under the cloud.
What are the advantages of mixed load balancing?
Rapid construction of hybrid cloud, through the backend to mount the resources on the cloud and under the cloud, to achieve the sharing of resources on the cloud and under the cloud, seamless business integration.

- High forward
Cluster supports up to 100 million concurrent connections to meet users’ massive business access needs.
- High stability
Instance resources are exclusive, the performance of the instance is not affected by other instances, users can choose different specifications of the instance according to business needs.
- Four-layer/seven-layer network access Four-layer load balancing: Support TCP protocol, after the listener receives the access request, the request will be directly forwarded to the back-end server. High forwarding efficiency, fast data transmission. Seven layers of load balancing: Support HTTP and HTTPS protocols. After receiving the access request, the listener needs to identify and forward the data through the relevant fields in the HTTP/HTTPS protocol header. Support encrypted transport, cookie-based session retention and other advanced features.
- Multi-availability zone deployment
It can choose to create load balancing instances in multiple available regions, and each available region will take the optimal path to process access requests according to the algorithm, and at the same time backup each other to improve the efficiency and reliability of business processing.
- Health check
Regularly check the running status of the back-end cloud server. If there is any abnormality in the back-end cloud server, the traffic will be forwarded to other cloud servers in normal operation to ensure the high availability of the user’s business.
- Keep the session
Identifying the relationship between client and server interaction processes ensures that a series of associated access requests remain assigned to the same server while performing load balancing.
Integrate Huawei Cloud’s high-quality public network access capability, and share the public network outlet on the cloud with dedicated line and NAT, saving costs and providing high-speed Internet access under the cloud. The original L2CG two-layer technology created by Huawei Cloud has a lot of black technology capabilities, making the cloud migration of enterprise applications more convenient and safe.
How is the Layer 2 connection gateway configured?
To configure mixed load balancing, it generally requires the following four steps:
Step 1: Create the load balancer
Create a proprietary load balancer.
Step 2: Create a listener
Configure the listener for the ELB instance.
Note: Only TCP, HTTP, and HTTPS type listeners support cross-VPC backend functionality.
Step 3 :(Optional) Configure a health check
You can configure a health check when you add a listener, usually using the default health check configuration.
Note: In the exclusive ELB instance, in order to ensure the normal health check, the security group rules must put the source network segment to be the VPC subnetwork segment associated with ELB, the destination port to be the health check port of the back-end server, and the destination port to be the business port of the back-end server in Layer 7 ELB.
Step 4: Add a back-end cloud server
Add a cross-VPC backend and fill in cross-VPC backend IP, backend port and weight information.
Cross-VPC back-end supports the addition of back-end servers that communicate with each other through VPC peer to peer connection, cloud connection, VPN connection and dedicated line connection. Backend server groups that bind hosts on cloud and hosts in IDC under cloud as load sharing.
