Apple officially released macOS Big Sur 11.4 on May 24 (local time). This release supports “Podcasts “subscriptions, as well as iOS14.6 and iPadOS14.6. Channels (a collection of shows by a producer) and individual shows can now be purchased with monthly or annual subscription plans.

In addition, there are some serious bug fixes, including the following:

Safari bookmarks can be reordered or moved to a folder and hidden

When the Mac wakes up from sleep, certain web sites may not display properly

Exporting photos from a photo application may not include keywords

Previews can become unresponsive when searching PDF documents

Playing Civ 6 on a 16-inch MacBook can become unresponsive

According to CVE numbers, 73 vulnerabilities were fixed. These vulnerabilities include permission upgrades, arbitrary code execution, sensitive information leaks, denial of service (DoS), sandbox bypasses, gatekeeper bypasses, malicious applications revoking root permissions, and file system protection modifications. In particular, malicious applications can bypass the TCC privacy Settings (CVE-2021-30713), which have been proven to take advantage of.

The security update also works with older operating systems such as macOS Catalina and macOS Mojave (not affected by CVE-2021-30713).
