Time flies, in a flash, summer to autumn. In just three months since it was opened to the public on 06.06, 2018, G6 usage has exploded, with the number of active systems soaring from 100 to nearly 1,000. 2. Support SVG rendering
As powerful as Canvas is, the elements of the custom column phenotype are its weakness. As early as six months ago, G6 started planning to support HTML nodes, but canvas’s technology stack and DOM have an inconflable separation. The SVG rendering engine solves this problem well. Just today, G6 supports SVG rendering and custom DOM elements!

Three months ago, along with open-source G6, we opened g6-Editor, a graph Editor component based on a G6 wrapper. To our surprise, this component has received a lot of attention from friends inside and outside Ali. As G6-Editor is still being iterated and not open source yet, and there are some commercial restrictions, we have received a lot of applications from users. It made us realize that polishing a highly interactive, extensible graph editor made a lot of sense. Over the next few months, we will focus on making the g6-Editor source code available in the open source world early next year.
