To be honest, as Android has matured over the years, the approval process for Android apps has become more and more stringent across the market. Therefore, it is important to do some preparation before launching an app, or it is possible that the approval will be rejected several times.

Links to several Android app markets that are commonly used today

Here’s how easy it is to get into the app store, with Samsung having the most difficulty and Oppo the easiest (personal opinion) :

  • Samsung App Store

  • Application of treasure

  • Huawei App Store

  • Xiaomi App Store

  • 360 App Market

  • Vivo App Store

  • Oppo App Store

Prepare the content

Here’s what you need to know before your app hits the shelves:

  • Basic Enterprise Information

  • Application software copyright certificate

  • Information about the application

  • Test the account and instructions

Basic Enterprise Information

Basic enterprise information is used for enterprise account registration and account authentication in the App Store.

Basic enterprise information mainly includes the following contents:

1. Enterprise email address, technical support phone number and official website: used when registering accounts and applications.

2. Business license and certificate number: used for account authentication and application information filling.

3. The id number of the legal person of the enterprise, the copy of the ID card or the photo of holding the ID card: used for account authentication.

4. Corporate account: Used for account authentication.

Software copyright

All Android app stores now require you to submit scanned and electronic copies of your app’s software copyright. Especially Tencent application treasure, the software copyright audit is extremely strict, soft application name and the name of the application is not the same.

Below I mainly list the materials required for the application of soft software:

1. Software copyright Application form

2. Software instruction documents

3. Software source code (first and last 30 pages)

Software copyright application method:

  • Go to China Copyright Protection Center to register an account, fill in the software application online, and then send the information to the Software registration department of China Copyright Protection Center for processing. A detailed soft application process can be found here.

  • If you submit your application, the review time will be very slow, at least 3 months before it is possible to come down. If you are more urgent, you can seek a third party intermediary agency urgent agency, the cost is about 500 ~ 3000, depending on the extent of your urgent.

Information about the application

App information covers a lot more, and each app market needs different content.

The following is a list of relevant information about the application:

1. Name of the app on the shelf (as consistent as possible with that on the software), square icon (16×16, 216×216, 512×512), app introduction, app screenshot (480×800, 1080×1920), etc.

2. Application installation package (APK)(compatible with version and model).

3. Release region, supported language, adaptation device type, and application classification.

4. Application permission description and version description (feature).

5. Application qualification certificate, including software copyright certificate, disclaimer letter, application copyright certificate, etc. Special industry software also needs to provide the corresponding industry qualification certificate.

6. The official website of the application, user’s privacy and service terms webpage, customer service email and other contents.

Test the account and instructions

After we submit our app for review, the app marketplace will schedule some simple tests. If your app has a login feature, you must provide a test account, otherwise it will not be approved properly.

Here are a few things to watch out for:

1. The test account should be negotiated with the backend developer and have all the rights, and should not touch the environment after submission for review, in case the testers in the application market cannot test properly and fail the review.

2. If there is a version update in the software, it is best not to release a new version during the submission period, and ensure that the version submitted to the app market is the latest version.

3. If your application requires related hardware to be used, it is best to provide relevant product instructions and video introduction links, submit the approval rate.

4. Generally speaking, the first time an app is released to the marketplace is the most difficult, and the most vetted. It is best to submit your application in advance (usually one month in advance is a good idea), so that you can leave some time for rectification. Once the shelves are successful, the review of the later version upgrade will be very fast, generally up to half a day can be approved.
