“What are your hobbies?”

“Lecherous! The uncle’s answer was simple and direct.

Ann sat down with her arm resting on her chin, as if she wanted to hear a story.

“Is there any wine?”

The bartender handed over a cocktail and a soda.

“Middle school crush a girl for several years, you know why?”

“Why?” She looks beautiful in a plain dress tonight.

“From my current aesthetic, she looks very ordinary, you look much better.” The uncle paused.

“Get to the point.” Little Ann looked contemptuous.

“Because she was wearing a white dress with a pair of light pink panties underneath.”

Xiao Ann spat salt soda into uncle’s face.

“As for? People are lecherous, do not believe you see.” The uncle didn’t wipe the soda and took out his phone.

“Look at this one, isn’t it very appetizing?”

Ann nodded awkwardly.

“And this one?”

“It’s not appetizing.”

“That’s right. The first one whetted my appetite, too. Though I am…”

“Uncle, are you a cook?” Before the uncle finished, Xiao Ann asked.

“I want to say, although I am an expert in conversion rate optimization, I have been studying color psychology.”

“Fierce what fierce, hum ~”

“Just said, I lecherous, in fact, you are lecherous, people are lecherous. People always have a strong preference for beautiful colors and collocation. Colors have a huge impact on our attitudes and emotions. When our eyes receive color, they communicate with a brain region called the hypothalamus, sending a series of signals to the pituitary gland, the endocrine system, and then to the thyroid gland. The thyroid signals the release of hormones and triggers our mood, which is when we may experience behavioural fluctuations.”

“That uncle’s secret love is also due to the influence of color psychology ~”

“You can understand it that way.”

All men are lustful. So, does color affect conversion?

Before we answer that question, let’s look at some data.

  • 92.6% said the visual dimension was the primary factor influencing their purchase decision (over taste, smell, etc.).

  • People make subconscious evaluations of products within 90 seconds of first viewing, with up to 90 percent of those evaluations based solely on color.

  • One study found that full-color magazine ads earn 26 percent more than black-and-white ads.

  • Heinz changed its ketchup packaging from red to green and sold more than 10 million bottles in the first seven months, generating $23 million in sales.

Even if we don’t think about color that often, color plays an important role in marketing. For example, a favorite color can convince you to buy this item, a favorite color can make you crush on someone.

Color can enhance the value of a website and the products it offers. If the right colors are used and the right messages are sent to the right customers, there will be less resistance to buying at any price.

However, the choice of color is always inconsistent with the theme, as color preference depends on one’s location, age and culture. However, there are some common trends. For example, many people prefer red to blue, green to yellow, and gray to pink. Women usually prefer purple, red and green, while men definitely choose blue, black and white.

We can use this in our website and product design to improve conversion rates. For example, if we know the color that most of our users like, we can use that color to drive higher conversion and make more money on the buy button or key CTA.

But with so many colors, how do I determine which color is right for my product and website? Although we can know that children’s websites should be in a cheerful color, orange or green. Use cool colors for technical sites. But it’s still hard to pin down a specific color.

This is where A/B testing is needed, and marketing and business people should always do A/B testing of color schemes.

Color affects everyone. It doesn’t matter if you’re a man, a woman, a programmer, a writer, or a business person: colors affect your mood today. What’s the best color for your site? There is no answer. But test your ideas, and there’s always room for improvement.
