Aliyun server data transfer from one account to another (cross-account migration)
We say ali cloud server generally refers to the SERVER IP + server data. Neither the public IP address nor the elastic IP address of a server can be transferred from one account to another, but the server data can be transferred.
Steps for cloud server data transfer:
1. Make a fresh snapshot backup of the system disk and database on the target server.
2. If you want to move from area A of one account (for example, Huadong 1 (Hangzhou)) to area B of another account (for example, Huadong 2 (Shanghai)), you can copy the snapshot from area A to area B. In the snapshot list, the “Copy Snapshot” function is available in the menu on the right of each snapshot.
3. Create a Custom Mirror for the snapshot. When creating a mirror, ensure that the system disk and data disk are created together.
4. On the right side of the image list, each image has the “share image” function. When sharing, you are required to input the aliyunUID of another account, which is not our login account.
5. After the share succeeds, you can go to the corresponding area of another account to check the mirror list and see whether the shared mirror can be seen.
6, and then create an instance for the image to complete the server data migration.
What if we want to transfer the IP of the original server? I had an idea, but I didn’t do it.
1. In the original account, set the server IP address to an elastic IP address.
2. At midnight or early morning, the elastic IP address is released.
3. When releasing the IP address, use another account to apply for the customized IP address. In this way, when the elastic IP address is released but has not been allocated to other clients by Aliyun, the elastic IP address can be immediately applied back and then bound to the migrated server.
