The original article was published on my blog Hawstein.com.

The December summary of AlgoCasts was released as scheduled in mid-January! As the saying goes, the summary is late, but never absent.

So let me go over what AlgoCasts did in December. In general, the number of videos recorded in December decreased. Starting from Plan 150, MY Plan is not to watch videos every day as before, but to spend some time doing other things. Other things currently mainly include two categories, one is to improve the website function; The other is to run AlgoCasts.

In terms of improving website functions, the following things have been done this month:

  • OJ label/Difficulty Label/Category label
  • Go online and test a complete algorithm project
  • Online FAQ
  • Go down Card View

OJ/ difficulty/category these labels have always been the voice of users, so I made them in this month, users said it was really sweet. In addition, after a friend reminded, you can do a complete test project, so that you can easily run and test their own code and reference code. So this month also made up a little bit by day. In the course of writing this project, I wrote a number of useful Helper methods to assert different data structures and randomly generate test data. Using this utility class, testing becomes much easier. In addition, I spent some time sorting out some questions frequently asked by users and put them on the FAQ page. Finally, the pretty but useless “card View” was taken offline.

As for AlgoCasts, he did the following:

  • Did a wave of SEO
  • Recorded an episode of Teahour: Chat with Hawstein and Zuo Cheng about algorithms and data structures
  • We had a Christmas book drive
  • Opened a zhihu column: three words to solve the algorithm

I also delayed doing SEO for a long time. The previous site was about SEO Totally Unfriendly. I finally took the time to do something this month. In addition, I had a two-hour chat with ding ding/teacher zuo on teahour about algorithms /AlgoCasts/ freelancing and so on. I feel that this episode was well recorded and worth listening to. 🙂 I also held a book delivery event on V2EX during Christmas, which gained good exposure but had a so-so conversion rate. He was ridiculed by his friends for doing charity again. = Finally, I wrote a column on Zhihu. I planned to use a few simple sentences to solve algorithm problems, just like cheat sheet. Cheat sheet: You already know how to do the cheat sheet. But over time, you might forget that there’s something you can click on and you’ll be connected.

December also spent a lot of time meeting and talking. Due to the previous publicity, some factories were interested in AlgoCasts or my lectures, so we made an appointment to chat.

After several iterations and minor tweaks to the site, the current list page and details page (play page) are as follows:

That’s about it. Maybe I forgot a few more. HMM, since I forgot, let it go with the wind. “Remember” or “forget”, just follow circumstances.

If you have any questions, or just want to talk with me, you can scan the code and add wechat.
