How to use Apple Maps in macOS Big Sur

1. Search for location in Apple Maps.

2. Enlarge the map until the binoculars icon in the menu becomes optional.

3. Click the binoculars icon. This will place a large blue and white icon in the middle of the map, as well as the in-picture loop view.

4. Change the position of the icon by clicking on a different area of the map or scrolling through the main map. This will also update the loop view.

1. Click the expand arrow to fill the Screen with the Around view.

2. Click and drag to change the camera Angle.

3. Click a point on the road to move the camera further along the route.

4. Click the service icon to close the service. In the window that is displayed, more information is displayed.

1. To exit the full window view, click the double arrow icon to reduce it to a picture in picture view.

How do I access the guidelines in Apple Maps on macOS Big Sur

1. Click the search box and scroll down.

2. Based on the location you are currently viewing in the Map main window, click the guide in the available list.

3. Or click View All to open a second guide window for more options, and select the guide to view by city.

If you have a location that should be added to the list in the guide, you can click the circled plus button and then click the relevant guide to add the location to. You can also create your own new guide from scratch, which you can then share with others.

1. Scroll to my Guide in the sidebar of the app.

2. Click the plus sign under my guide.

How do I add locations to your own Apple Maps guide

1. Click a location on the map.

2. Access the information card for that location, and then click the more button on the three dots.

3 Click to save to the guide and select your new guide.

How to edit your guide in Apple Maps on macOS Big Sur

1. Scroll to my Guide in the sidebar to access the guide.

2. To change the name, hold down the Control key, click on the guide, select edit Guide, and enter a new name.

3. To update the guide cover photo, follow the same process and then select Change key photo. Use the following screen to insert another photo or image of your choice.

4. To remove a location from the guide, hold down the Control key while the guide is visible and click on the location, then select Delete from the Guide.

5. To change the sort order, see the guide, click the sort order arrow, and then select alternatives.

6. To delete the guide, hold down the Control key, click on the Guide, select Edit Guide, and then select Delete Guide.
