Why aren’t my AirPods connected to my phone?



Check the power of the AirPods battery

Power shortage is no good, method charging.

– AirPods won’t enter matchmaking mode? Check the bluetooth

Open Control Center (on iPhone X and later, swipe down from the top right corner of the screen. On older models, swipe up from the bottom).

In Control Center, look for the Bluetooth icon in the upper left corner.

If the Bluetooth icon lights up, it is enabled. If there is a line on the icon, or if it looks white, Bluetooth is turned off.

Click on the Bluetooth icon to open it, and then try connecting to your AirPods again.

Bluetooth on but no connection?

If Bluetooth is enabled but your AirPods still can’t connect, you may just need to reset the Bluetooth on your phone. Follow the steps in the previous section to check the Bluetooth status in the Control Center. Then, click on the Bluetooth icon to close it, and click again to open it. Try reconnecting the AirPods.

AirPods connected but no sound?

Open the control center using the methods mentioned earlier.

Click the music control in the upper right corner.

In the expanded music control, you will see a list of all possible audio outputs. If AirPods are not selected, please tap them.

Try playing music again and see if the AirPods work properly.

Maybe it’s a software problem: restart the iPhone

Restart. If the problem is a one-time glitch in your software — one that occurred through normal use of the phone — a restart will fix it.

Is your iOS version up to date?

Even if the AirPods aren’t reconnected after a reboot, the problem can still be the iPhone’s software. Please run the latest version of the operating system.

Reconnect your AirPods to your iPhone or Mac

If you have tried all of these steps, but the AirPods still cannot connect, reconnect them to the device. Please follow the following steps:

Be sure to do all of the following:

The iPhone is running the latest operating system.

Bluetooth enabled.

AirPods are in their case, their batteries recharged.

Put the AirPods inside and close the AirPod case.

Wait 15 seconds.

Open the case lid again. If the status indicator blinks white, the AirPods are ready to connect and all is well.

If the indicator light does not flash white or the AirPods cannot be connected, press and hold the Settings button on the AirPods case. Continue to press and hold the button until the status indicator flashes white, orange, and white.

Open the AirPods case and follow the instructions on the screen of your iPhone or iPad.

If this doesn’t work, skip to the next section.

Reset the connection between your iPhone and your AirPods

You need to remove them from your iPhone or other device, and then reset them. On an iPhone or iPad, follow these steps:

Click on the Settings application to open it.

Click Bluetooth.

Click on the I icon next to AirPods.

Click forget this device.

Confirm the deletion by clicking Forget Device in the pop-up menu.

Close the AirPods lid.

Wait about 30 seconds, then open the lid again.

Press and hold the Settings button on the AirPods case and follow the instructions on the device’s screen.



Reset the connection between your Macs and AirPods

Click the Apple menu in the upper left corner.

Click System Preferences.

Click Bluetooth.

Click on your AirPods.

Click the X next to them.

In the pop-up window, click Forget Device.

This will remove AirPods from your Mac. Reset them in the same way as when you first connected.
