Over the past six months, we’ve spent a lot of time researching app trends and conducting detailed surveys with our customers and users. We’ve extracted four trends in mobile APP testing and shared them with you to help you understand the recent development of mobile APP testing.

First, the adoption rate of continuous test method increases

Interest in continuous testing methods has greatly increased in most companies. Many business leaders have learned the importance of ongoing testing through the adoption of continuous testing methods such as DevOps. When asked what approach organizations would take to speed up product launches, 60% of respondents to our survey said implementing a continuous testing approach would be their preferred strategy.

Due to COVID-19, approximately 70% of users have embarked on a major shift to SAAS offerings. This is a huge achievement for these businesses because these changes have been on hold for a long time. Most users have moved to take advantage of many cloud platforms. The following figure shows an example of a cloud solution taken by a test platform in an actual mobile device compatibility test.

The new normal of remote working is making business leaders realize that productivity can also come from our homes. Some of the test engineers we spoke with mentioned that they can perform most functional and automated tests remotely. The importance of cloud migration and the use of SAAS tools is more necessary than ever. Enterprises are beginning to look to cloud solutions to assist with the ongoing remote work agenda. Tools to help companies transition into the digital space will be in the spotlight this year.

Research shows that the future of work is hopeful in remote working. Given the number of systems and applications that move each day, cloud migration will reach unprecedented heights and will continue to scale to even greater heights.

Third, use more ARTIFICIAL intelligence for testing

Artificial intelligence (AI) plays a vital role in the digital world and is a key component of the applications and systems of the future. The information age is developing rapidly and a lot of data is available for analysis. As more complex software applications are developed, publishing applications that meet business requirements has become a critical component. This is where AI can help. One of the key uses of AI in testing is the use of visual AI. With the increasing use of Visual AI, Visual AI enables test engineers to verify the behavior and presentation of code with greater accuracy. Running Visual validation with standard unit tests not only saves time, but also closes the gap between automation and Visual AI.

The use of AI in testing is growing exponentially, and the benefits it brings greatly simplify the testing process. Organizations can achieve more if they implement AI for various testing functions. Ai-driven testing will lead the way from quality assurance (QA) to quality engineering (QE).

Implementing AI in test functionality will certainly help organizations take even bigger leaps in the years ahead. Exploring the current situation of the organization will definitely benefit the company, as it can improve the efficiency of performing production tasks and reduce the workload of personnel.

The rise of low-code development test platforms

The low-code revolution is another game-changer that will help speed up the development, testing, and distribution of applications. Many companies are moving towards the low code revolution. And because automated testing has been on the agenda for many software companies. Choosing low code to develop applications quickly makes more sense in the software or application development world. Many developers and testers want to use low-code development platforms. This will help them speed up the development of their applications, which in turn will slow down the release cycle.

Research consultancy Gartner predicts that low-code application builds will account for more than 65% of all application development functions by 2024, with about 66% of large enterprises using at least four low-code platforms. A low-code development platform allows users to develop rapid prototypes without having to hire a formal software developer.
