Writing in the front

This is my first post since I joined the Nuggets community six months ago, and it’s the end of the year to summarize my 2021 and look to the future.

About the author

Graduated from computer science and technology major in 19, bachelor’s degree, currently engaged in front-end development.

2021 by a strange coincidence

Why the mistake? Somehow I came to Nanjing from Shandong and learned vUE (previously angular) in the tech stack.

I am a native of Shandong province. I have been studying and working in Jinan for a total of 6 years. I have a deep love for this land and plan to settle down in Jinan. But at the beginning of 21, I could never have imagined that I would be sitting in an office building in Nanjing writing. After the Spring Festival this year, my leader suddenly came to me and said that he wanted me to go on a business trip to Nanjing, which would last for more than a year. Therefore, he wanted to ask for my opinion. It is because nanjing side set up a branch, to recruit a large number of people, and then need to bring the company’s current front and back end frame to let them quickly familiar with and application. Of course, the leader will also take us, and then talked about the salary, saying that it will increase to 12.5K before tax, including accommodation. By the way, I started my job on June 15th, 2000. At that time, my monthly salary was 7K, and I got a raise of 5.5K in half a year. I think it’s quite good. After careful consideration, I decided to go out for a walk. After all, There is a big gap between Jinan and Nanjing. Play good friends with Ji ‘nan don’t finish eating dinner, things should be thrown, send people to send people, break off, bedding bags by the company with the same arrangement to send express. All ready, formally set foot on the train to Nanjing.

After coming to Nanjing, stayed for a month, adapt to the time is almost (the only uncomfortable is selling steamed bread very little, eat rice every day is really vomit), to tell the truth, all aspects are really good, the company provides rice, meal supplement, salary every month to hand can have 11.7K or so (provident fund according to the lowest standard). Unexpectedly, just after I got used to the new environment, I was asked to go on a business trip to Beijing. It was this business trip that directly gave me the idea of quitting.

Before my business trip to Beijing, the leader warned me that this project might be difficult. Then, I took over the project of other companies, which was developed based on VUE, and the code quality might not be very good. I was sent to put out fires. At that time, I thought that it would be good for me to travel to Beijing, to get in touch with and learn about the new framework, and to go there willingly without suffering. As for the code, it is really a bad batch, thousands of lines of a JS file, no annotations, no ES6 grammar, variables named with pinyin and even Chinese variable named… And before I got there, there had been two departures at the front of the project, and I was the third. At that time thought to have come, also can’t live up to the expectations of the leadership is not, then start every “reading” code, probably experienced pain two weeks later, basically just calculate understand the whole project code, so start refactoring concise code, in addition to some places is afraid to move, and does not affect the system function, a month I can completely control the entire system, And start new requirements development. In the end, the project was accepted as normal and the company received praise from customers.

After returning to Nanjing, the company began to implement 1, 2, 4 overtime and size week mode… In addition, I was sent to the on-site development of Party A. The experience at the customer site became the last straw for me. At the beginning of October this year, I decided to open my resume and start looking for a job.

Then tell me about your job hunting experience this year:

  1. The first thing to consider is the base of the job, right?

Nanjing or Jinan? After comprehensive consideration, I finally decided to stay in Nanjing for the time being. As for the reason is to think that since all out, has not gone back, it is too shameful, and then nanjing side relatively more opportunities, wages are also a little higher, consumption is actually about the same as Jinan, but the rent will be a little more expensive.

  2. Secondly, what kind of job should I look for next?

There are three requirements. The first is from the research company, resolutely will not outsourcing, this is a hard condition. Secondly, the salary before tax should not be less than 12K. Thirdly, the number of employees in the company should not be less than 100, both Angular and Vue can work in the technical stack. Finally, the company should refuse to work overtime on weekends.

In the end, I found a satisfactory company. The technology stack is Angular, the salary is 15K before tax, from 10 to 7 in the morning, and I never work overtime on weekends, and the provident fund is full. At least not so far.

Outlook 2022,

That’s my 2021. I stumbled along the way and switched jobs at the end of the year. Overall, it’s not too bad.

  1. Keep learning and output a technical blog every two months

  2. Learn more about Angular and encapsulate common components, pipes, and directives
