👨🏻🍳 Kitchen 2.9.0 Publishes logs

After two weeks of intensive development, Kitchen 2.9.0 has been released to the public (download address). In this version, we have completely reworked the underlying packaging build process, refactoring the smart layout code, and making the plugin smoother and more stable overall. Let’s take a look at the important improvements that have been made in 2.9.0 (full update log).

We optimized the bloated volume of the previous version to the extreme. On the premise of keeping all functions unchanged, the package size of the new version was optimized from the original 12.84m cliff type to
2.73 M(compressed 781K), only the previous version
21%. While extremely lightweight, we have also significantly optimized the memory footprint of the plug-in for smaller size and better performance.

In this version, we have simplified and reconstructed the underlying implementation of intelligent typesetting, which greatly improves the response speed of numerical input and typesetting, and also solves the problem that Sketch will flash back due to frequent operation in the previous version, giving the fingertip a smooth and smooth operation feeling. (Also, paddy, the subject of our tribute, has launched a Padding2 beta, so keep an eye out.)

Everyone loves Unsplash, and we are no exception. 2.9.0 Added two new image filling sources of Unsplash: Faces and Office, which are suitable for head picture and Office scene. We hope that the most beautiful picture will bring the best visual performance to your design.

In the previous version, dragging and dropping the icon would insert a layer directly under the current page, and designers would often have to adjust additional layers, which was a very bad experience. In this version we automatically recognize the layer insertion position of the drag icon and now place it in the matching palette.

In addition to the above changes, we have also fixed some user-reported bugs and made a number of improvements in interaction/performance/stability. For example, the problem of flash retreat when used with Diya plugin was solved, and the problem of inaccurate selection of all artboards when multiple pages was fixed. Click the Update button in the Sketch plug-in management to upgrade the Sketch plug-in, or download and install the Sketch plug-in from the official website. After the upgrade, restart the Sketch plug-in and use it again.
